methodology · Bag Aura v0.3
It isn’t random.
Enough of the model to trust it; not enough to game it trivially.
What Bag Aura measures
Bag Aura is a 0–10,000 score. Up to 1,000 of it comes from $BAGGY holdings (see rules v0.6.0); the rest is eight positive components and three penalties measured on a wallet’s public behavior on Robinhood Chain: conviction (concentration in real positions), hygiene (dust and spam ratio), liquidity (share of value in markets that actually exist), tenure (time on chain and holding age), activity (distinct contracts touched, recency) and taste (composition patterns Baggy has opinions about). Each component has a fixed maximum. The archetype is a deterministic classification over the same metrics; the verdict is a deterministic pick from a library, keyed by wallet and day.
What is deliberately NOT an input
- Wealth. Total USD value is not a component. A $300 wallet with taste beats $500k parked in a stablecoin.
- Any BAG CHECK asset. $BAGGY is the exception and it is disclosed: holding it adds up to 1,000 of Bag Aura's 10,000 points, on a fixed tiered scale, counted in tokens and never in dollars. It changes no archetype, no badge and no verdict.
- Who you are. No accounts, no social graph, no identity resolution.
Missing data — normalization
Providers fail. When a component cannot be measured (explorer timeout, pricing outage, no market data), it is excluded from the denominator rather than scored as zero. The score is normalized over the components that were actually available, and the page shows coverage. A wallet is never called “empty” or “inactive” because a server was slow. Below 30% coverage no score is shown at all.
Data Confidence
HIGH: balances, activity, history and pricing all complete. MODERATE: one facet partial. LIMITED DATA: a facet unavailable — the score is still honest for what was seen, rare badges are withheld, and the label is printed on the card so a reader can discount it.
Private by default
A result is a fact about a wallet, not about a person. Unclaimed results are not indexed, never listed or ranked, and have no public per-address API. Claiming (proof of control) and publishing (an explicit choice) are separate, later, optional steps. Public surfaces show aggregates only.
Determinism
Same wallet, same day, same data → same result. Every card carries a snapshot id. Cached results are versioned so a scoring change never silently rewrites an old card.
Proof of Bag
The Bag Room shows a SHA-256 over canonical JSON of the collectible fields: schema version, edition, serial, max supply, archetype, reaction, Aura class (a bucket, not the number), chain class, confidence, finish, block tag, earned traits, snapshot id, render version. Anyone can recompute it. It is an integrity hash — it proves the fields weren’t altered — not an anonymity device: it contains no address, balance, quantity or exact score, but a determined party who already knows an address could match it. Today’s proofs are previews; they are re-issued against the frozen snapshot when Genesis rules freeze.
The Block Tag is the Robinhood Chain block height at the moment of a wallet’s first completed BAG CHECK, observed and recorded by BAG CHECK (it is our ledger, not a transaction by the wallet). It is written only after a successful block fetch — never guessed, never back-filled.
The ledger commitment (/api/genesis/root): each record becomes a salted leaf; leaves form a binary Merkle tree; each day’s root records the previous day’s; day roots are anchored with OpenTimestamps. This proves that a given set of commitments existed before the anchor time. It does not prove that a score was correct, that anyone owns a wallet, or that anyone consented to anything — and we will never claim it does. No address, leaf or salt is published; owners receive their own leaf inputs at claim time.
Genesis model (not live)
Genesis is capped at 1,000 and minted only on earned claim; unclaimed supply is never minted. Serials will be assigned by eligibility order at a frozen snapshot, not by claim order or lottery. Finishes (CANVAS → BRASS → PRISM → BLACK ZIP) are earned by fixed public rules; BLACK ZIP has no input anyone can manufacture (no referral count, no spend); cosmetics from Mystery Bags never affect them. Referral credits only count when the referred wallet is real (at least one outbound transaction) and are capped per day, and the frozen snapshot re-counts them over eligible wallets only. The eligibility rules will be published and frozen before any claim exists and will not be a farming formula.
Limitations
- Robinhood Chain is weeks old; tenure signals are compressed and will widen with the chain.
- Explorer history is capped per request; deep histories are marked as lower bounds.
- Pricing comes from DEX pools; tokens without a pool are “no market”, not zero.
- Baggy is an entertainment product. Nothing here is advice. Terms.
